Jacomb's cottage walhalla is a charming old style cottage in the historic gold-mining town of walhalla, gippsland, only 2.5 hours east of melbourne in the foothills of the victorian alps. Warm summer days with cool evenings perfect for a good night's sleep, autumn with crisp. Jacomb's cottage in walhalla, each season brings its own pleasures. The original criterion hotel was delicensed in 1913 at the end of the gold-era and demolished soon after. The cottage replicates one of the outbuildings of the former jacomb's criterion hotel which was originally built in 1867, during the height of gold-mining in the town. Clear days and beautiful autumn colours, winter with a chance dusting of snow perfect for curling up in front of the fire and spring when the gardens of walhalla overflow with colour.
